Posting Guidelines

Hello, all! As the first posting date approaches, I thought it would be helpful to have a general guideline for posting laid out. If you have any questions, please contact the mods
hokuton_punch or
cloudwrack via Dreamwidth messaging or leave a comment on this post or on the rules post.
POSTING TO THE COMMUNITY WITH A DREAMWIDTH ACCOUNT
1. On the posting date, post your work to the site of your choice (if you prefer to post your work directly to the community, that's also fine).
2. Create a post in the community using the posting template from the rules post. (If you are a member of the community, you can do this by selecting "Post" from the main Dreamwidth page and then selecting "7daysofmarathon" from the dropdown menu next to "Post to:"; if you are not a member of the community, you can do this by going to the profile page for
7daysofmarathon and selecting the "Post to Community" option from the menu.)
3. Fill out the posting template with all of the pertinent information. If you are posting your work directly to the community, you can delete the "Link to Work" line and put your work in the body of the post under a cut (the code for a Dreamwidth cut is <cut text="Text that appears as the cut link">YOUR WORK</cut>.) You do not need to tag your post; the mods will handle it.
4. Hit post.
5. Blam! You're done!
POSTING TO THE COMMUNITY WITHOUT A DREAMWIDTH ACCOUNT
1. For each posting date, there will be a post with the official prompts for that date that should be posted by no later than 8 a.m. US East Coast time.
2. Once you have posted your work to the site of your choice, please leave a comment on the official prompt post with all of the relevant information, using the posting template from the rules post. If you would like a mod to repost your comment as a community post, you may request this with a note either in the comment or in the comment's subject line, but it is not required.
3. Blam! You're done!
POSTING OUTSIDE OF THE COMMUNITY
1. If you are posting outside of the community and don't want to create a Dreamwidth post or comment, please tag your work with "7daysofmarathon" or include a note in the summary/description that the work was created for
7daysofmarathon.
2. If you would like your work to be included in a round-up post on Dreamwidth, please add to your post that you're OK with your work being linked on Dreamwidth.
3. The mods will create a round-up post at the end of each posting day that links to all works that the creators have stated they're OK with being linked.
4. Blam! You're done!
Again, if you have any questions about how posting works or anything else, you can message the mods or leave a comment (anonymous or not) on this post or on the rules post.
